for setting up your
Frog Pool Tender system
Learn how to setup your Frog Pool Tender Mineral Water System with this step-by-step guide.
The following article will describe and illustrate how to setup your Frog Pool Tender with a pool filter system.
Check Contents
The first step for installing your Frog Pool Tender is to check the contents of the box and make sure you have all the necessary components. The following contents are included in the box:
- Frog Pool Tender Cycler - 01-02-4180
- (1) Frog Pool Tender Mineral Chamber (Inside Cycler)
- Pool Frog Nipple Kit 01-22-1710
- O-ring Lubricant
- Teflon tape
Connnecting Your Frog Pool Tender Cycler to your Pool Filter System
If this is a brand new filter installation, skip to step 9 only after removing the Helpful Start-Up Tips pamphlet from the Cycler and inserting a Chlorine Chamber into the Cycler.
Step 1 - Scroll through the steps by clicking on the arrow in each image.
Open the Frog Pool Tender Cover Cap and remove Helpful Start-Up Tips pamphlet.
Step 2
Identify your Frog Pool Tender Chlorine Chamber (included with Frog Pool Tender System SPECIAL and Frog Pool Tender Fresh Mineral Water System Package).
Step 3
Remove blue cap from top of the Chlorine Chamber.
Step 4
Turn Chlorine Chamber upside down so the orange lid is facing down.
Step 5
Insert the Chlorine Chamber into the Cycler and rotate until it is secured into the Cycler.
Step 6
Apply the lubricant that came with your Frog Pool Tender Cycler to the O-ring on the cap (this should be done every couple of months). DO NOT USE petroleum based lubricants. Screw Cover Cap back onto the Cycler.
Step 7
Remove the filter hose on the OUTLET of the filter tank.
If the water level is above the Return Jet Fitting, to minimize water loss you must:
• Close intake shut off valve on filter
• Install winterizing plug in Return Jet Fitting or place return hose back into the pool
Step 8
Remove shut off valve/hose adapter from the OUTLET of the filter tank.
Step 9
Apply teflon tape to each threaded end of the nipple.
Step 10
Screw one end of the nipple into the filter OUTLET. Hand tighten. Finish tightening by turning 1 to 2 revolutions with a pipe wrench. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
Step 11
Screw Shut Off Valve/Hose adapter into one side of Frog Pool Tender Cycler. Hand tighten. Finish tightening by turning 1 to 2 revolutions with a pipe wrench. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
Step 12
Two people are recommended to complete this step. Lift up one end of the Filter system.
Screw other side of Frog Pool Tender Cycler on to open
nipple end until upright and
secure.
Step 13
Your Cycler is now installed on the OUTLET of the filter tank.
Step 14
Attach return section of hose to the hose adapter with a clamp. Tighten clamp with screwdriver.

Your Cycler is now installed on the OUTLET of the filter tank.
