Why is there no display on the power supply screen?
This may be caused by a power outage, burnt fuse, or power supply failure. Make sure there is power to the unit. Check and change fuse if it’s burnt. Call customer service if problem isn’t resolved.
What does it mean when the display reads “- -“?
This means the Solaxx Saltron Retro is in rest mode. No action is needed. If you want it to operate immediately, uplug/plug the power or adjust the timer. Both will start operating right away.
What does it mean when the display reads “- -” and Hours alternating?
- Your chlorinator cell may be outside the water. Put it back into the water or fill water line halfway up the Retro.
- There may be an open circuit in the chlorinator cell. Check the wire connections and make sure no cut or broken wire.
The display screen says “LO” and Hours alternating. Yellow LED light is on.
- Your salt level may be low. Add more salt to your above ground pool and allow time to dissolve.
- Water temperature may be low. Don’t use Solaxx Saltron Retro if the water temperature is under 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Chlorinator cell may be at its life end. Call customer service for replacement.
Why does the display read “HI” and Hours alternating? The LED red light is on.
- Your salt level is high. No action is needed. Stop adding salt to the pool water if you are doing so.
- Water temperature may be high. Using Solaxx Saltron Retro for water temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit is not recommended.
Why does the display read “HI” and the red LED light is blinking?
- Salt level is too high. You will have to dilute your pool water with fresh water until you reach 3000 ppm salt level.
- Water temperature is too high. Stop using Solaxx Saltron Retro until pool water-cools down.
- There may be a short circuit in chlorinator cell. Check to make sure there are no metal objects between the electrode plates.
Why does the display read “8 8” with all the lights blinking?
- There may be a power supply outage. Unplug and plug in the power cord to reset the power supply. If the problem persists, call customer service.
Why is my chlorine level low?
- Hours are set too low. Adjust the hours setting to higher number (the maximum is 24 hours/day). Make sure the cyanuric acid level in your pool is between 50-80 PPM.
Why is my chlorine level high?
- Hours are set too high. Adjust the hours setting to lower number (the minimum is 0 hours/day).
